यह एक-मंत्र सूक्त जातवेदस अग्नि से दुर्गों और दुरितों को पार कराने की प्रार्थना करता है। नाव की तरह पार उतारने वाली छवि बताती है कि अग्नि संकट में मार्गदर्शक, रक्षक और कठिनाई से बाहर निकालने वाली तेजस्वी बुद्धि है।

जातवेदसे सुनवाम सोममरातीयतो नि दहाति वेदः । स नः पर्षदति दुर्गाणि विश्वा नावेव सिन्धुं दुरितात्यग्निः ॥१॥
Meaning
Here, through “जातवेदसे सुनवाम सोममरातीयतो नि दहाति वेदः”, the seeker prays to Indra to accept the Soma or honey-like joy and awaken fresh energy within the seeker. The prayer points to inner awakening as well as outer ritual action.
