What is Sanatana Dharma?
Sanatana Dharma (the Eternal Way) is not a dogmatic belief system, but a dynamic, cosmic framework of truth, righteousness, and natural law. It represents the collective spiritual realization of ancient rishis (sages) who directly cognized the nature of reality.
Vedic literature is fundamentally divided into two categories: Shruti ('that which is heard' - direct revelations like the Vedas and Upanishads) and Smriti ('that which is remembered' - traditional texts like Puranas, Itihasas, and Smritis). Below is a conceptual map of this sacred literature.
