Original Study Translation

Hindi Bhavarth

RV 10.172.1

Mantra 1

Meaning

With “आ याहि वनसा सह गावः सचन्त वर्तनिं यदूधभिः”, the seeker prays to the divine power to arrive at the yajna and connect the prayer with the divine path. The prayer points to inner awakening as well as outer ritual action.

Study Note

RV 10.172.1 adds one step to the Sukta's movement, keeping the link between outer ritual and inner attention tied to yajna and the invoked presence of उषाः.

Hindi Meaning

Simple Explanation

RV 10.172.2

Mantra 2

Meaning

Here, through “आ याहि वस्व्या धिया मंहिष्ठो जारयन्मखः सुदानुभिः”, the seeker prays to the divine power to arrive at the yajna and connect the prayer with the divine path. The emphasis here is knowledge, speech, and awakened discernment.

Study Note

RV 10.172.2 is simple but layered: it speaks as prayer to उषाः, ritual utterance, and reflection on clear thought, sacred speech, and discernment.

Hindi Meaning

Simple Explanation

RV 10.172.3

Mantra 3

Simple Explanation

RV 10.172.4

Mantra 4

Meaning

Through “उषा अप स्वसुस्तमः सं वर्तयति वर्तनिं सुजातता”, the seeker prays to the divine power to grant nourishment, strength, insight, and useful prosperity. The prayer points to inner awakening as well as outer ritual action.
